Afta8 is a location-based social discovery and networking platform built to help adults discover, connect, and communicate with people near their current location. Afta8 is currently a Progressive Web App, which means users can access it directly from their mobile browser without downloading from an app store. It is designed to work smoothly on mobile devices, giving users an app-like experience with easy navigation, responsive design, and quick access from their phone. With Afta8, users can create a profile, explore nearby users, send chat requests, manage their privacy, and control how they appear in discovery and map-based features. The platform is currently in its MVP stage, but we have already attracted over 500 users. This early traction shows that there is real interest in a safer and more accessible way for people to connect locally. At the moment, Afta8 is free to use with no premium restrictions while we continue testing, improving the product, and learning from user behaviour. Our next goal is to develop Afta8 into a full mobile app with stronger safety, privacy, and health-awareness features. As part of our long-term impact model, we want to use the platform to promote responsible connections, encourage health education, and support HIV awareness and prevention through trusted information, reminders, and partnerships with relevant health organizations. Afta8 is more than just a social discovery platform. It is a growing digital community with the potential to improve how people connect, communicate, and make safer choices.
